Residential - Houston, TX

A two-story home located in the historic Montrose district of Houston had an air conditioner failure resulting in excessive mold growth while the homeowner was traveling out of state.

While the owner was away, the upstairs AC system experienced a failure while the downstairs unit continued to operate. The temperature differential caused moisture condensation resulting in mold growth on the first floor.

The first floor was gutted revealing the original ship lap structure of the walls.

Texas General Contractors performed the mold remediation and restored the home to its formal beauty. The original wood floors were replaced with custom milled reclaimed white oak. All the fixtures were replaced with antique pieces fit to the period.

TGC also performed a full home rewire to replace the knob and tube wiring and a full repipe of the home. Many more updates were made to the home but it remained in true form to its historic nature.
